Job Description

The Senior Heap Leach Planner is responsible planning of ore deliver, preparation and release to process. Creates staking plan on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in coordination with the Process Metallurgist. Responsible for ensuring leach pad stacking plan considers all critical aspects of the leach process, including pad monitoring, oxidation, lime rinse, and leaching. Completes tasks assigned by Director Feasibility, and/or Technical Services Manager with a dotted reporting line to the Process Manager.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

Create staking plans on a daily, weekly monthly basis and communicate effectively to Process on placement of ore on heap leach pad.
In coordination, work with Short Range Planner and Metallurgist to determine the placement of ore on heap leach based input provided on the oxidation cycle and recovery curves.
Ability to follow the metal forecast tying with the metallurgy revenue plan.
Ability to drive and with collaboration with Process ensuring leach pad stacking plan considers all critical aspects of the leach process, including pad monitoring, oxidation, lime rinse, and leaching.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience along with Leach Pad Planning required.
Experience using Vulcan and strong in Excel required.
Confident to influence accordingly regardless of outcome.
Ability to adapt, understand and remain flexible under changing conditions.
Demonstrated ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required.
Ability to work with a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to assist with budgeting, set priorities, meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, and to develop, support, and promote safety, environmental awareness and grow the technical talent of peers and workforce.
